Ok this forum is starting to get to be a pain with at least one scam happening every week or so. I have almost been scammed before and a middleman/woman would be the perfect thing for cn. We could get a preapproved list of members and all trades would have to be done through them. If one party decides to scam, the middleman can just return the items to their owner. I seriously think this needs to be done for people to make trades that dont turn into scams.

Sounds like a good way to prevent scammers.
What about items that need to be shipped?

the middle man can hold the money till the person says they shipped and give a tracking number...and middleman would do it because they can? I dont thinkthey need an incentive, i sure wouldnt if i was chosen to do it.

there are services like this offered, I believe palmer-pursuit.com still does it, but the middle man usually does get something. I mean he has to pay for shipping and has to take time out to go to the local shipping location fill out the labels and whatnot...

we could also use a system similar to pbnation.com, I've bought stuff there multiple times and never had problem. They have a feedback system similar to ebays. And its usually the person with the lower positive feedback ships first.

Ha, I was ganna suggest this idea then I saw this thread. but yeah, an escrow service would be a great idea. This kinda of service is popular and i used to use alot for domain name selling a trading. I was thinking, why not apply it here? and if 2 accounts are being traded like a pepsi for a CL, the escrow dude checks them if they are legit, and also the traders pay the escrow dude a fee or so.

have the middleman/woman hold the money until tracking number and shipping confirmation is received then give the money to the other person, and if they attempt to scam give the money back to its rightful owner

dunno, call usps, or ups, or fedex whatever one and ask the weight or something I'm sure something is possible, but I don't want to figure it out

I have problems with middleman situations though.

Say the trade goes good and then the person issues a claim and gets his money back. The middleman is fucked.. not the seller.

u would just have to tell paypal that you were the middleman but i guess thats a possibility
