Make CN invite only, or closed to registration during the week before Lockerz restocks so We dont get sooooo much shit... Or find some other way to make the spam level go down during lockerz. Also, I dont know if you can do this, but delete all member with Less than 5 posts. If you need to send a Warning email or something, go ahead and do it, but i think in general this site is crowded with old unused accounts...

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the growth of the site, adding new members, but find a way to limit that...

i agree, maybe if it was closed registration all the time, they could make the chatbox free for people with 100 posts or something

Yeah, Make it completely invite only, but give every one with 100 posts an invite, and make them not as hard to get as fruit12, so that we still grow, but not with spammers...

Also, free Chatbox is good idea, but i remember they said that it would be like 700 or 1,000 posts to get in if they did end up doing that...

Not going to happen because the more members, the more traffic Chewy gets and the more money he gets. Also sometimes the new members will be subscriptions.

but spammers are never subs, and if you mean gets money from ads? most of the spammmers get on, post like 2 threads and never get on again, so thats like $0.000000001 per spammer

So? It's money. Also, you may never know if someone who registers here is a good coder.

yeah thats true, maybe you have to have 10 posts and no negative rep to start a topic i think that would work pretty well, it would force them to make 10 not-spammy posts before they can make a topic

3 spam post = infraction rule should take effect. Ref for cash trades also becoming a scam place if new members have access on that

I think that would be a good idea. It takes so long to get spammers banned sometimes that some sort of regulation on membership would be an improvement.

And, an invite system was attempted on CN way back... it was a failure. It'd also slow activity on the board big time, that'd make this place all depressing
