I would like the reputation system gone from Cheating Network. It really is not necessary since this site was started to exploit sites and what not, not trade everything.

There are many immature members on this site who enjoy abusing the reputation system. It really gets old when people's posts are -repped for no good reason just because someone is too immature.

Using the reputation system to -rep inappropriate posts or just plan spam is good, and that is your duty as a citizen of Cheating Network. But when you -rep a user just because they have -repped one of your immature posts, it is just plain rude.

All that immature person is doing is clicking your name, getting your last post, and -rep it so that they can get back at you, or get 'revenge.'

Cheating Network mods and admins are very helpful, and have even helped me personally with this issue. They have a private forum where reports are read and dealt with, so do not be afraid to report a post.

To wrap it up, the reputation system should be gone. Another forum uses a very nice 'Thanks' system so that you can thank useful posts.

Cheating Network mods have proven to me personally that they do read reports, so why is there a need for reputation? The last time I checked, I joined Cheating Network to get free stuff, not trade. And you know what, they are just about the only threads I see these days; them and referral sites.

Well we could always just do away with nerping. That's how SD does it and everything goes relatively fine over there.

My favorite is when you -repped me and called me a fagg. I don't know about anyone else but that seems kind of *-/*ed up to me.

I agree with the part of anoying little kids abusing the rep system but i dont think we should get rid of it because it still does server a pourpose. It helps me with sellin shit now because kids dont bother me with the whole im scared ur gonna scam me as much ne more. I think new rules need to be implimented to stop kids from -reppin for no reason. also maybe make time limit before a user can send or recieve rep like maybe 6 months with no infractions takes you off the provational period and a certain amout of posts that arent spam. Just an idea.

Also please stop making threads like these. we all know the rep probs but hey are u gonna let a number tell u weather ur legit or not?? I sure as hell dont.

(CL, Pepsi, etc..)

And we have a forum called Feedback! That forum is so people can know if you are trustworthy or not. In your trade posts you can just post that link too, or put it in your signature.

We know the reputation system has flaws. But unless you can come up with a better suggestion i doubt it will change.

The only other system i can think of is the Thanks system (I LOVE THE THANKS SYSTEM!)

Commodore's forum uses the iTrader system. So if you must trade you can use a reputation based only on trades. Hey you never know, I could have payed 109 people a dollar each to build my rep.

I like the rep system because it is a quick way to decide what members to trust and who to avoid. I agree that there should be some changes to the system. I say we change the neg rep part, which is causing the problems. I have not been neg. repped yet, but I think it shows who -rep you. If it didn't show who it was then people wouldn't be able to neg rep back if you -repped them. Taking that out would fix the 'revenge' issue. Or just remove the whole neg. rep part and members could only give +rep. Then if some immature member, as you say, comes along and pisses other members off we could use the report button. The mods could take a look at their stats and if they did in fact broke any rules or that they are not fit to be allowed here, then they can be banned end of story.

Yes, there are some abuses of the reputation system. I was on another forum ages ago that did away with the rep system, although that was not because of -rep abuse, but because of +rep groups that were inflating their rep levels. All sorts of +rep for +rep, and crap like that.

I just don't really see a need for it to go away. A "Thanks" system is good, and I like what I've seen at other forums that employ such a system, but all that really does is distinguish between contributors and everyone else. The rep system is an easy way for one to tell how established of a member one is at a forum, which some exceptions. You can easily tell if someone is generally liked at a forum, or if someone is a troll who needs to go back to their cave and gtfo of the forums. A thanks system can't exactly do that.

I don't really care one way or another if the reputation system stays or goes. It's just that I don't see it as being so problematic that it needs to be removed. So what if someone -reps you back? Is it really that big of a problem? I know the internet is serious business, but come on.

The only problem with the rep system is, like you guys said above, revenge -rep. So I think if you minus rep someone, they can't minus rep you back.

Seriously, I *don't* understand what the big deal is. One person might get a random -rep or two at a time, but if the person really is a good member who is an asset to the community rather than a burden, then the +reps they receive will balance out.

uhh... I like the rep system personally. I feel I've deserved the rep I've got (no you rep me I'll rep you nonsense). I give out random rep every now and then to people who I feel personally contribute an awful lot to this forum, and I do negative rep people for asking lame ass questions consistently (obama anyone?) but I've never -rep for dupe-posts, and things of this nature.

I notice there is no more karma button, so I'mma guess the rep system is in fact being removed.

Aye, I noticed. It was kinda odd. There were a few posts that I know had replies to them that were completely gone (of replies that is) and the karma button was gone. But then I refreshed again and they came back. Oddities of my mind I suppose.

I personally use the rep system to judge who is a legit poster and who is not. Who is worthy of being bought from and who is not is a factor of both rep AND feedback in my decision making process.

I'm def a 'user of the rep system to make judgements' person, and that's my last 2cent on this.

yeah I seen that too on alot of places but those forums arent like how we do it here
