| Senior Member | You don't even need a bot... You can automate it using GreaseMonkey directly in FireFox... Way too easy to cheat/bot this one... But based on the internet savyness of the way the site is setup (i.e. this ain't just another e-prize promotion), and the fact that Chase is one of the major financial institutions left in this country, and that it has been internet savy for quite some time, I suspect that there will be a lot of back-end processing going on. Ex: the 5 per day, 10 per week limit is not implemented on the front end, so it must be done on the back end? Which means they could be doing other stuff on the back-end, too. IP tracking, ZIP+4 validation, etc.? Not to mention that winners may have to verify the information provided (name, address, date of birth) when they registered via mail (think federal mail-fraud issues). So, if you register with fake info you will either have to pass on the prize or risk federal prosecution for mail fraud (i.e. your local Postmaster General will go after you, not Chase, etc). The 'mail fraud' will occur when you mail back the letter with false info. And, if you don't mail it back, or mail it back with different info, then you forfeit your prize. It is the lack of any kind of validation on the front-end makes me suspect that they decided to do it all on the back-end instead. And the total lack of communication as to the status of your entries/account makes it virtually impossible to tell if your entries are being accepted, or if you have already been banned and they are being silently ignored. Also, according to the official rules unclaimed prizes will not be awarded (forfeit or otherwise)... So, if cheaters bot 95% of the prizes, Chase then 'forfeits' them (6-8 weeks later), and they do not have to award the $7,600,000. So, it is their own interest to have cheaters and silently 'forfeit' their entries, that way they don't have to give out the money. Sure, a few debit card users will win a couple bucks (as little as $5), but that is nothing compared to the number of 'foreits' they will be able to rack up by having that way-too-easy-not-to-abuse web entry form. So, I may be a little paranoid... And a marginal conspiracy theorist... But the more I think about the way this promotion works, the less I think anyone has a chance of winning anything.
