If it fails try another stick and remove the previous one. Also run memtest -> www.memtest.org, with 1stick of ram at a time to determine if its faulty ram. The test will take a long time so just run it overnight. If it gives an error or freezes in the process, then that stick of ram is faulty. The second reason that it would occur when my PC overheated, make sure your pc is cool and not hot. You can try and see if reinstalling might help also, it could also be due to a corrupt windows install. |

Now this is where i forget when you enter the XP CD and start it up with the CD in there i think you hit F8 or F12 and you get the installation screen. you have too use your keyboard. and enter R. and just follow the on screen directions. But you may want to Goggle around for a more detailed explanation so you dont mess up and all your files are gone. |

The blue screen also produces a dumpfile in many cases that can be run through a Microsoft utility that gives you a description of the problem in slightly more understandable English. You have a few options before reformatting and it will make for a good learning experience! |
