Okay so my friend on msn sent me this message today.
" Hey is this you? http://www.yoyomaster.com/?r= (My email)"
Then there was a file
So i Dl'd it.
And it was a MS-DOS file

It killed my firefox - Couldnt open
And now everytime i open msn
It freezes my computer and sends the message above to all my contacts once in a while
I tried system restore but i could only go back 20 minutes which is not enough...

I really need help!

I did ran a scan on my anti virus.
Nothing found

my ideas
uninstall firefox completely then manually delete the remaining folders in the program files thenreinstall

go to the Windows folder look at the most recent file, anything weird copy past to another folder
so if anything "necessary" goes wrong you can restore it

i would virus scan completely if you dont have one, google for trendmicro Housecall, and use that

I use portable firefox
try downloading at www.portableapps.com

you dont needto install on a usb flashdrive etc..
so if any thing goes wrong you machine isnt messedup
just copy the "favorites" from the directory and paste in another fodler with portable firefox, install addins back in track with any browser problems

Check your registry, it may be a script that edits it.

One thing that always works for me when I somehow get one of these is to reinstall MSN.

I don't think uninstalling firefox would work but it wouldn't hurt too much to try if uninstalling MSN doesn't work.

If you ever get a weird message like this from someone, just ask them about it before you click it.

I dunno if it hacked my whole computer or msn...
Cuz after that my computer has gotten alot slower
And has frozed no less than 5 times...

Run your computer without running msn
CTRL+ALT+DEL then go to Processes and click "msnmsgr.exe" and end process. Then see if it speeds up or is the same.

Than BOOM msn died.
But seems not to work anymore....

yeah, was probably virus. What AV were you using? because if your current AV didnt pick it up then it could probably be undetected (UD). Or it could of probably just been a "bat virus" or probably just fucked up your registry. So I suggest you try and get a better antivirus like NOD32 or Kaspersky, if still nothing is picked up then try a system restore, if still nothing just install linux
