Default XP installation problem...

Hey, I tried installing XP today, and it goes to 100% of copying files then restarts. Normal. When it boots up it sticks on the "Press any key to boot from CD" screen. And yes the drive was formatted NTFS. I tried installing again and THIS time, it gets stuck on the "Loading Windows Setup" (or something similar) screen. So if anyone could help... 'twould be awesome.

lol, that's what I was thinking.

It could also be a bad disc. Did you burn it yourself?

No I didn't take it out of the drive. And yes, I burnt it myself. Think I should make a new disc?

Well, that might be the problem. Unless there's a problem with the XP you got. Make sure you burn it at the slowest speed possible.

go to your bios and change the boot order as it is set to boot from a cd rather than your hard drive...

access the bios by hitting escape when the computer is starting up

Thanks for the help but I pretty much exhausted all BIOS possibilities... turns out it was the disc, worked just fine after I made a new one. Now I just feel like an a**. Anyway, thanks for the help everyone!
