Default Which type of site would you join?

I'm thinking of starting up a new website for everyone on CN to benefit from. My ideas so far are GPT, PTC, or a new points model I'm developing. Here's a breakdown:

GPT site: Everyone knows what these are and how they work. For mine, I'd only list offers that pay the admin more than a dollar, and each offer completed would be worth $1. I'm sick of seeing GPT sites that payout close to nothing, so it definately wouldn't be like that.

PTC site: Everyone knows what these are and how they work too. Mine would be based around the new breed of ptc sites that pay out 5 cents or more per click. I would try to list at least 20 clicks everyday worth 5 or more cents each. I'm not talking about all the lame "bux" sites that pay you 1/10 of a cent per click. These would be backed by legit advertising companies.

Point site: The point site would be some sort of hybrid site. There would be 1 GPT offer to do each day. You'd get a certain number of points for doing the offer. There would also be some of the ptc links and some other small tasks to do, with each one being worth a certain number of points. Points would be redeemable for prizes something like Lockerz or CB or whatever.

Which kind of site would you guys be most interested in joining and being active on? Discuss...

Yeah, if I go the PTC route, it would be only high-paying PTC ads.

What if you did a combo site? One that offers GPT but also has a PTC section?

That's what my idea of the points site would be. I guess it could be for just money too, but the points model seems to be favored by people who don't think these sites are legit.

I know! It seems every new GPT site pops up with the same offers as all the rest. If I can find a GPT site that pays fairly and has some unique offers, I'd be really happy. I've found some new affiliates that allow incentive traffic, but I don't have a site to promote them on at the moment.

I hate GPT and PTC. Too much work for little money. A point type sounds good.

I hate points because I never feel like there is anything I want. I like when sites offer paypal or Amazon gift cards.

This site wouldn't be like typical GPT or PTC sites. GPT offers would be worth $1+ for the end user and PTC's would be worth 5 cents or more. The points system would be something equivalent, so either way it would be worth a similar amount.

True. I'm thinking of doing exclusive prizes because my friends family owns a wholesale company and they get stuff really cheap. I would probably also do amazon gift cards or PayPal in addition.

Default GPT's are more work than you would think.

I think a points site would be best.

I know a little about making GPTs, and from what I hear, there are too many of them to make good money anymore. PTC's are a complete waste of time.

If you do make a site, PLEASE do it professionally. Too many people rush into it thinking "I'll invest $100 and be rich!"
They fail to realize that to get any income from the site it needs:
  • To look professional
  • To use a catchy, but not stupid fairy-tale name (like Dragon's Treasure)
  • To have professional hosting
  • To have daily payments, games, and contests

Obviously, you can't use just any script. "Shiftcode" would be the best, but it costs $180. Most importantly, the site would need to offer something unique, something that other sites don't have.

To have a good site, be prepared to spend $1,500, or so.
Remember that you will have to pay for:
  • A domain
  • Hosting
  • The script
  • A website designer
Not to mention to keep a couple hundred in your PayPal so you can start giving out payments right away.

Running a site takes a lot of work, especially if you've never done it before.

I know all this because I was recently considering investing in a GPT site, and I know someone who owns three (they are all well put together sites). I asked him about it and, in a nutshell, that's what he told me.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but I'm just preparing you for what you're going to need to do.
