I am curious about landline/cell calls. I currently subscribe to Time Warner's unlimited digital phone service but am looking for ways to save a few $$ in expenses.

-Is the call quality any good? I realize it is partially dependent on my net connection.
-What is the overall dependability of the Skype network?

lol i used my psp for skype and sounded okay, but besides that i dont know how dependable it is

I am using Skype, It is completely dependable. I called India sound quality was superb on cell phone.

It costs extra to SkypeOut. You have to pay a fair amount to cal landline/cell phones.

-Depends on your net speed, your microphone, and the Skype server.

Well the plan that I have is unlimited us and canada for $2.99/month(includes cell phones)

They also have a plan with around 35 countries for $9.99/month but it only has cell phones in like 3-4 countries.

Something i will need to get soon is a box that you press * on and it connects you to skype. I just wonder if it will work without being connected to phone, although i am mainly getting because dorm room doesnt have long distance.

I think the people you are calling have trouble hearing you sometimes. But you can hear them great.
