I was just wondering if anyone knew a good site to get a free/cheap domain. I'm mainly looking for somewhere to upload all of my eBooks so I can simply send buyers the links instead of emailing them. I've currently got a few files on megaupload, but they expire in a certain period of time if they're not downloaded and it seems as though none of my buyers are smart enough to navigate through the site. I don't need anything pretty, just functional. I'm not quite sure how to upload any of my files to begin with, but I'm sure I'd be able to figure it out eventually.

Do you know if they delete files that have been inactive for a certain period of time? I can't seem to find any information there.

EDIT.

Actually I do see a problem now that I have uploaded. Once I send someone a link to my item, they will have access to all of my other items as well. I'm not sure if this will work after all.

dont quote me here but some of my files i have had on there for atleast a year and they havent been deleted.

No possible way to have a private link for each individual upload though. At least none that I can see. Otherwise it looked like exactly what I was looking for.

try right click- copy link location. from your file itself. they wont access all your files and it will direct them to download it

You can host your own website for free with a free webhost, and set it up however you want. Upload your files to your site, and send your buyers a download link. Here's a list of free hosts: http://www.free-webhosts.com/webhosting-01.php

The advantage of doing this is that your buyers can only download what they paid for, and you can even password-protect your downloads so that no one can just stumble upon your paid content.

http://www.110mb.com/ = the best free webhost you will find as long as you don't need mysql. They offer 5 gigs of space and 300 gigs of bandwidth.

You can use a free subdomain or get a .info domain for $3 (I saw a coupon recently which made it $.99 but don't remember where) from godaddy
