Default Free server hosting?

I saw the thread about free web hosting and it suprised me at the people willing to do it so I was wondering if anybody had a dedicated server or something like that so I can use for my tf2 server? Anybody have some extra space for me?

Hosting a gaming server than web hosting is different....and is A LOT more expensive.

Like imp said there is a huge difference, extra space isn't how it works.
However if you got the money heres the best deal you're probably going to find: Team Fortress 2 Servers : Buy TF Server Hosting (rental)

Thats why everyone just plays and doesn't make their own servers...
They are expensive.
The community I admin at has 3 servers, not including webspace, and just that alone is about $500-$700 monthly.

Funny how you guys say dedicated for $40 a month

is it a P2 with 2gb hard drive and 128mb ram?

Better off to get a virtual private server for better performance, either way if you want a good gaming server you will need to spend alot of money on a server or have a really nice home connection with stable upload speeds

personally i think the latter option is the best for the common joe and for learning how to run a game server

Lol $40 a month for a game server sounds reasonable.. considering over here in Aus we get them for like $50 /12 slot. I've run so many servers over the years, bought one once.. the rest I just hijacked from the owner The best way to make back the money is to charge for admin or something - little nerd gamers will pay for that sort of thing if your server is good enough.

You have to make sure you have ports forwarded, etc. Also without an amazing connection you will only be able to host it for a few people if that.
