it dont matter if there unlocked or not. blackberry curves are cdma. which means it only works for the service provider its made for. because its illegal for the company to add the esn to the database..also...my blackberry 8330 was 30$ on contract so this is a rip off.

3rd party companies allow all ESN numbers and this is cheap without a contract

You know what "illegal" means, right? It may be against your cell phone company's policy, but it is far from "illegal".
