$1.99 new and transferred domain names at GoDaddy.com - apparently does not apply to renewals:

Elsewhere on the page, it says that domains are $1.99 with an additional purchase. However, I put a domain into my cart WITHOUT any other purchase and the total came to $2.19.

fuyuki, I use lunarpages for my business clients and like it.

there are others like justhost.com or bluehost.com, but lunarpages is better than godaddy even imo.

I like surpass hosting but any hosting you pay money for should not have ads

Thanks for the info. I check out the website. What is the cheapest hosting on that site. It say as low as $4/month, is that promotional offer or always $4 a month?

I've used 1and1.com a few times for one-off hosting (not reseller, in other words). They have specials occasionally that drop you down to $1.99/month (first year - move it to another account next year).

Then there's good ol' 'triple zero' hosting (you know who I mean, right?) for free hosting. Surprisingly good for free but a bit slow. I just installed a WP MU site on it...didn't think I could get away with that!
