Ok well I told some people about this site, but for those of you who don't know about it, its ledshoppe.com

They sell cheap green lasers, and yes, they ship to the US. I can confirm that they do, I ordered a 50mw green from them and received it in less than 2 weeks (its slow, but its from china).

They only sell green lases, but they are extremely cheap and come with free shipping.

Takes like 14 days total to arrive ( Damn US Customs ) Chinese brand lasers but are decent for basics. You could sell these to your classmates at School and make some money from this. $15 for a 5mW and say $5 for shipping. <--(Example to use if you do.)

Be careful these are a lot more powerful then the little red ones my cats like, these have a potential to do damage to eyeballs and stuff.

I'd like to know, too. Are they the same manufacturer? (DX's are pretty good quality for such a generic "brand")

the quality is fine. ive definitely seen nicer lasers before, but for this price, these are a steal.

I read about a powerful laser pointer being able to pop balloons and stuff, anyone know how powerful they have to be to do that?

I think if you mod your 5mW green laser, it would be powerful(but it would take a little bit to pop a balloon, if it does at all). I would stick with the 50mW and mod it also. That would be powerful enough. Here is the mod that I am talking about:

5lsr didnt work for me. The 10% off one works, but I cant do the free laser thing.

pot modding greatly shortens the life of a laser, if you are lucky. usually it kills it almost instantly since you did it wrong. pot modding is very bad for lasers and i highly suggest avoiding it.
