Before anything, you must have your ipod touch or iphone jailbroken.
Ifj you need help to jail break pm me its not that hard to do.

The first thing you need to do is to go into installer and go to sources, then go to edit then add new source.

add
http://modmyifone.com/installer.xml

or

http://zodttd.com/repo

Then hit refresh(if you have alot of sources it takes along time.Mine takes about 5minutes to refresh sources.)
Next go back to installer and hit the tab install and go to the games folder
look through the games folder until you see a program called genesis4iphone(works on itouch to)
install it.
(unless you already have a roms folder)Now that you have this you need to make a folder in private/var/root/media (Download mobile finder in installer and just tap the folder named above until you get inside your media folder.)
make a folder in here called ROMs, then inside that folder make one called GENESIS
now you need to download winSCP since the sources for roms are down

WinSCP :: Download

after you install it make sure your ipod is plugged in to the computer with wifi on
run winscp
for the hostname enter your ip address (you slelect the blue arrow next to the wifi network you chose for ip address)
then the username is root
the password is alpine

itll say some stuff like something breaking in or crap like that just say yes.
now you could also creat the ROMs folder or GENESIS folder doing this to. and when you sign in it starts out with the media folder right htere so its easier.

make a new folder in my documents doesnt matter whatever the name is

go here to download your sega genesis roms(they have all games you can think of)

Sega Genesis Roms at ROMNation.NET

now download these to the folder you made in my documents.
after your done doownloading make sure you go to the folder and extract the files out of the zips
In winscp on the left column go to the folder you created and then on the right column go to your GENESIS folder
now just click and drag the stuff form the left side to the right and drop it and it will say copy move and other stuff.
Say copy.
Now after you have all the games in the GENESIS foler go to itunes and sync your ipod
Now you should be playing sega genesis games
O and this is the best emulator they have so far. none of the games lag at all. so don't worry

lol, we didnt have a sega . we had super nintendo and nintendo at that time.
it was a great moment though when the n64 came out. the graphics were awesome lol.
