I made this guide for cheap or broke people like me get away from M$ $99 repair fee.

WARNING!!: This is fraud, I'm not responsible for anything that happens to you or your 360.

This guide works if you have the following problem.
-Out of Warrenty Xbox 360 with just about any problem

1) Call Microsoft Customer Support (1800-4MY-XBOX) and tell them you have the RROD or 3- Red Lights are flashing on your 360, they will send you a shipping box. (RROD stands for Red Rings of Death)

2) Unplug your 360 and leave it in the freezer for 5 minutes.

3) Take it you a block all the vent holes.

4) Plug it in and power it on. Leave it alone for about 10-15 minutes.

5) 2 Red Lings should start flashing on your 360.

6) Shut it down and restart it. If 3 Red Lings begin to flash then it worked!! If not repeat steps 2-4 until it does.

7) Once you get your shipping box (takes about 5-7 days) pack it up and ship it off.

In about 3 weeks you'll get either a new or referbished 360.

9) Play the hell out of it!!

How it works- The 3-Red Ring error occurs when the 360 is cooled and heated in rapid sucsession. This is a common problem with the 360 and Microsoft fixes it for free along with any other problem. It can be done for free only 3 years after you purchase your 360.

All you have to do is go to xbox.com and do the support thingy like i did, they send u a box.....I think i stated this in a previous post....and don't freeze it that will be noticeable because of moisture...you should overheat it with a bath towel err w/e.....takes 2-3 weeks after you ship the box back to them

the RROD is due to over heating, the solder joints in the PCB board break and MS has to replace the whole mobo. I don't know why anyone would want to do this anyway, you still pay for shipping there.

The difference is when you are beyond the warranty period it will cost you $99 to get the 360 fixed. Here it is shipping only, if even that. Do the math.

Anyways, I think the guide was made for those whose 360's were screwed but didn't have the redlights (unable to read discs, etc).
