| Senior Member | Using this method you can update your 1.1.1/1.1.2 jailbroken iPod Touch to a 1.1.3 Jailbroken iPod Touch WITHOUT USING IBRICKR, with NO GLITCHES and ALL THE NEW APPLE APPLICATIONS AND FEATURES ENABLED. Follow those simple steps to get a jailbroken iPod Touch 1.1.3. This method has been tested and found to work. Works on Mac and Windows! STUFF TO HAVE: MAKE SURE YOUR IPOD IS JAILBROKEN AND IS RUNNING SSHD AND AN FTP DAEMON. MAKE SURE YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR IPOD VIA SSH AND FTP. You can use SCP instead of FTP if you wish. DRAWBACKS: THIS METHOD WILL DELETE ALL APPS YOU HAD INSTALLED BEFORE ON YOUR IPOD EXCEPT FOR INSTALLER (You can easily reinstall them later). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY ANYTHING YOU PURCHASED OFF THE ITUNES MUSIC STORE ON YOUR 1.1.3 JAILBROKEN IPOD. 1- DOWNLOAD FILES I have made a package that contains all the files you need to perform this jailbreak. it can be downloaded at one of the following addresses: Code: http://filedepot.shrapnet.com/jailbreak.7z http://shrapnet.com/downloads/jailbreak.7z http://files.keihatsu.org/jailbreak.7z http://cheater912.psp-temple.com/jailbreak.7z http://rapidshare.com/files/86812702/jailbreak.7z PLEASE GO EASY ON THE BANDWIDTH! MAKE SURE TO TORRENT AND MIRROR THIS FILE IF YOU CAN. I WILL POST MIRRORS HERE AS SOON AS PEOPLE POST THEM IN THIS THREAD OR PM THEM TO ME. You will need 7zip to extract this archive. After downloading, extract all files. 2- COPY FILES Use FTP to copy the softupgrade directory provided in jailbreak.7z to /private/var/root/Media/ so that you end up with a new /private/var/root/Media/softupgrade/ directory. This will take some time as some files are quite large (300MB+) 3- INSTALL NEW FIRMWARE Go to Installer and look for a package called "1.1.3 soft upgrade". Install this package. Wait a couple of minutes, even if the installation process seems frozen. Your iPod will soon reboot with jailbroken 1.1.3 firmware! Congratulations, but you're not quite done yet. 4- INSTALL NECESSARY STUFF Reinstall the following applications using Installer: BSD Subsystem OpenSSH (Root password has been reset to "alpine") PureFTPd 5- PATCH SPRINGBOARD Using FTP, go to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ and replace the file SpringBoard with the copy provided in the jailbreak.7z. Now, using SSH, type the following command: Code: chmod +x /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/SpringBoard 6- ENABLE APPLE APPS While still in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ , use FTP to delete the file called "M68AP.plist". Then, replace the file called "N45AP.plist" with the copy provided in jailbreak.7z. 7- FINAL SEQUENCE Using SSH, copypaste the following commands in order: Code: cd / mv Applications Applications_ mkdir /private/var/Applications ln -s /private/var/Applications /Applications cd /Applications cp -R /Applications_/* . rm -r /Applications_ Reboot your iPod. 8- FIX MAIL.APP On some iPods, Mail will not remember saved passwords. To fix this, do the following: In installer, add the following new Source repository: Code: http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo Then, install "113 Mail Fix". YOU NOW HAVE A FULLY FUNCTIONAL, FLAWLESS IPOD TOUCH, JAILBROKEN WITH 1.1.3 AND ALL THE NEW APPLE APPLICATIONS. NOTE** You cannot use Summerboard or Customize on 1.1.3. The only availble trick is to allow icons, by doing the following. This does not allow for wallpapers yet. This will also show your firmware as 1.1.2 in your settings and iTunes, that's just because you changed the file V V Using FlashFXP, or another FTP program, Navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/ and theres a file called SystemVersion.plist Open it with a text editor and change the version number at the bottom to 1.1.2. and save it. Then make sure you got the new file that says your version is 1.1.2 and go into Installer and install Summerboard and Customize as usual. Its only changing the icons. No wallpapers yet. No word yet on when or if its being worked on. Customize works for the most part too, just play around with it. BUT be patient, I'm sure updated apps are coming. Let me know if your outcomes Enjoy |
