Default Hooking computer to TV

I saw this little diddy on DX:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4723

And thought that would be cool to use. But then I read the reviews and found out that that one particular wire set sucks in quality.

Can anyone point me in the right direction about hooking my PC to my TV through the red-white-yellow plugs? Also a vendor of good quality Video out Cards would be appreciated.

Not a bad deal for that.

Warning though: You won't get great quality unless you have a HDTV. And S-Video isn't that great of quality anyways...

You should use a vga to component cable. That's what I currently use to get hidef on my projector from my xbox 360.

May not be a bad deal but read the reviews. Plus I need a video card for my PC. Didn't come with one. Know where I can get a cheap one?

What's the difference between VGA and S-Video?

You're going to get a low-quality image unless you have an HDTV.

Anyways, VGA to Component would be your best option quality-wise. S-Video is a lower quality signal. The thing is, I can't find any cheap (< $60) VGA to component converters right now. So, if you're looking for a decent video card anyways, and don't have an HDTV to get superb quality with, you might as well just fork over a little more money and splurge for an actual video card and settle with the S-Video quality.

Check www.newegg.com for graphics cards

Most of them include the cable to connect to your TV

Yes but you would have to go from hdmi to dvi and then finally to vga. You wouldn't lose or gain quality so what would be the point?

Okay I found a video card.

Which is better? Direct RCA, S-Video, or VGA?

And those Red-Yellow-White plugs, are they Composite plugs or Component plugs? So I know what wire I'm looking for?

1) Using VGA is better
2) Red-Yellow-White = Composite
Green-Blue-Red = Component

Lookup both on wikipedia to know what your getting into and which one would work best for you.

the red yellow white are composite
component is blue green red

do not go hdmi --> vga
this is ultimate downgrade in quality

So what I'm looking for is a "VGA to Composite Cable"?

Cause my TV doesn't have Component plugs. Would RGB work in Composite plugs?

You would have to use S video or composite plugs to support your tv. They are the same quality (480) so it doesn't matter which one you choose.

Actually vga and hdmi have the same quality. Both can achieve 1080p. The only difference is hdmi is digital BUT...
digital =/= better than analog

Ryutso just use S-Video. It will work perfect for what you are trying to do.
