According to multiple reliable sources, the 3G iPhone will only be available for in-store activation. This means the end to buying it online and activating it via iTunes. So all those guys selling "preorders" for 3G iPhones obviously didn't do their homework, cause now they can't sell them unactivated.

i thought u could still buy em at the apple store but you had to activate em at an at&t store.

yes that is true...u can buy them at the apple store but you have to get it activated within 30 days or apple will fine u...that is what ppl r saying

Where is the "Apple will fine you" line?...That's bull. And second, I'm sure someone is going to do activation for free most likely.

i dont like it since it is so much more money...it is now $45 for 450 minutes + $30 for 3G data plan...that is at minimum

The 3G unlimited data plan is $30/month? Well, EDGE was $20/month, so this isn't that bad.
