Like the title says, I am getting a laptop soon for High School.
I need suggestions on what laptop I should get, as I am not really up-to-date with the latest deals.

Hopefully, the laptop would have as many of the following specifications as possible...

2GB+ RAM
2.0 GHZ+ Processor
100GB+ HDD
$800-$1100 Price Range
Available in Ontario, Canada OR Pickup from nearby US city (eg. Buffalo)

Will add more as I come across some new laptops.

Oh, and as a side note, it MUST be a Windows OS but doesn't really make a huge difference between XP and Vista. I am leaning towards Vista, however, because of the sexy looks and because it is newer.

I don't want to get involved w/ dual booting since I have never done it before and don't want to fuck up my laptop.

Also, can you guys comment on whether or not you think it would be a good idea to get a laptop now or around mud Summer? Basically May-August. I don't want to get a $1000 laptop now and a month down the road see it at $800.

you can use parallels...you run windows in your mac

no dual booting required!!!

that is what i do...windows runs in a window

inside the mac

well if ur looking for a good brand, go with toshiba, i'm on one rite now. there fast reliable, and in an affordable price range. thats y there one of the most popular brands. i dont know if u live near a circuit city or bestbuy, but check out their weekly deals and u'll find a good price. o yeah, i know u cant wait this long but during thanksgiving and black friday, retialers practically give away laptops, thats wen i got mine, i got a toshiba satellite worth 1450 for only 700 bux =) yay me!

Don't Get a Mac, whatever you do, unless you want to waste a lot of money, which you don't.

First, I would go with a Dell XPS. I think its the $1000 one.
