Second, because, its not really a high end PC, i don't think you will need to show it off, so get a simpler case and dont buy the lighting. If you are going to be using this pc for gaming then get this ram instead-> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227139 its much better and only costs like $10 more after rebate. I don't know about the mobo, i never had an MSI, only ABIT and Asus, which were great mobo's. Lastly, for the video card, you can get an 8800GT, which i have and low, or the 9600GT which is a bit worse than the 8800GT but cheaper. Or if you can wait 1 more month, the 9800GT will come out and the 8800GT will be cheaper. I also saw that you said its your first time. Make sure to read all the manuals first and understand how to put it together. Once you do that it will be very easy. |

Reputation: 0 ![]() | Right now, im using the abit ip35 PRO mobo and love it but its over your budget, $160. for that budget, i read that a few people were satisfied with the GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128078 . You can compare it with other mobo's and see which one you would like best. Also, you should go to this forum on www.pcper.com . They will help you out more with choosing a good mobo for $50-70 and with the rest of your pc. O and since you won't be playing demanding games, then a 6800GT will be good for you. YOu can get one for cheap on ebay Last edited by shmo70; 04-07-2008 at 08:54 PM.. |

| I Can Has Cookie? | The mobo is a good one, I ran abit in my first one, great for overclocking. The case is good, I think its a little pricey, but that wouldnt stop me. Everything else is good, I recommend you add this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130313 for a video card and this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118223 for a heatsink. That should put you at about 600. Which is what I spent on my second pc. The only thing I warn you with is, the mobo you got does NOT support SLI. Questions? I think your good to go.

| I Can Has Cookie? | That should work, you could try getting a cheaper case, or a slightly cheaper video card like a 7200 GTS or 6800. But with that mobo and heatsink you could overclock to somewhere in the range on 2.4 to 2.6 (Higher?). I overclocked a Core 2 Duo from 2.0 to 2.4 with the same heatsink. More questions?
