I have my nephewes pc here and I told him I would look at cuz he's got it messed up or -whatever-he d/L too much crap. What I want to make sure of is that If I completely unhook my cpu and plug in his, using my AT&T modem [no networks here-single user]- the is no risk to my setup when plug back in my lines and Im done seeing if I can clean his, fix-w/e---will I have any probs??

There shouldn't be any problems.

What Jason said. Unless the virus is physically coded to infect your modem/router (not sure if that's even possible or not), then it won't effect it.

Uh, that's not necessarily rude, it's a true fact. If your computer needed repair, would you take it to a shop where the technician was physically dragging the mouse on top of the monitor, wondering why the cursor wasn't moving?

Yeah and you almost didn't when I was the only one who actually followed your own rules lol.

It's true though, someone that should be able to get rid of a virus off of another persons computer should at least know this. Of course when you get it, run an antivirus and anti malware program, if it's still got the same issues as before, just post here for help and if needed ultimately a reformat.

Just be careful becky, if you're hooking his computer up to any external monitor/keyboard/mouse you own, those might get infected and in turn infect any other computers they later connect to.

Unless you have some awesome gaming mouse with internal memory that shows an removable storage, you can't infect peripherals.

Becky, "mature" has nothing to do with it - it's simply stating truth that if you have to ask if your modem will get infected, that you probably aren't too fit to be helping someone's PC get un-infected. Getting upset about the comments only increases how much fun they are to make.
