Also, any additional recommended accessories would be appreciated (eg. anti-static wrist strap).

Reputation: 18 ![]() | PC133 SDRAM can be found pretty cheap just about anywhere. Check around on eBay for some Kingston KVR (Kingston Value Ram), it's good stuff. Lifetime warrenty, and they'll cross-ship you a replacement if it ever dies on you. Sorry, I don't know of any CA online retailers. EDIT: Anti-Static wrist strap is junk... I've been working on computers for years and never bought one, never fried anything either. Just touch the metal part of the case before you start grabbing for things. |

Reputation: 62 ![]() | Thanx! I have been looking on TigerDirect at PC133 SDRAM. Is $60-$70 for 512MB a good deal? Are the type of RAM (SDRAM) and the speed (133) the only things that matter, ro do other things decide if it is compatible or not (eg. chipset)?

Reputation: 18 ![]() | The deal with SDRAM of that type is that there are only two, (PC133 and PC100), they're backwards compatible. (If you put 133 in, it'll run at 133 or 100, if you put 100 in, it'll run at 100.) That memory on TD is kinda high... KVR usually runs around $50 for a 512 stick... keep looking. EDIT: Once again (sorry for skipping part of the question) But for compatibility, the part of your specs that list (max ram 1.5GB 3x512) that's it right there. So don't go trying to buy a 1 gig stick... won't work. Hope this helps. |
