I am looking for a Tablet Notebook, i want it so i can take notes at school with, along with use VB on it, and some Halo Portable, thats pretty much it. Something good quality good specs, but a cheap price.

Gatewat C-series is pretty good. I've had one of their older models for a little over a year now, pretty good. Starts around $1k

that processor isn't the best. I have it on my mom's laptop (family laptop) and it's not that fast.

BB has a nice $400 computer you may want to look at, if you plan on only spending around $400

well, seriously, if you do want to go cheap, get that one at bestbuy, here's the link. I'm not sure about the processors, but it is dual-core. I know more about how good AMD processors are.

i go to college myself and first off you don't need a laptop to take notes. First, some classes are 2:50 min, and there are classes with no outlets, which mean your battery may run dead. Second, when you are taking notes in a math course you will fall behind trying to type in exotic symbols such as alpha, stand deviation, beta etc. It really is a dumb idea and waste of money, but if you got the money to waste (which you obviously don't since your on this website trying to make money) then do it.

That's why he wants a Tablet PC so he doesn't have to deal with the symbols, and the variables, he can just write it out on the PC and refer to it later. I've been wanting to get one as well.

I'm in college doing electrical engineering, so I have to write symbols and shit all the time, and I wont lie. Having a tablet is ridiculously useful. Also, my gateway lasts a little over 3 hours on a single charge, so I'm good to go.

I'm pretty sure gateways are the cheapest tablets around, unless you find something off ebay. The Thinkpad X61 is also pretty nice, but fairly small. The dell latitude is awesome though. Its got a capacitive touchscreen (you can write on it with your fingers) and multitouch =) But yeah, freaking expensive..

Just wondering Anigma, when you write on a Tablet PC, does it keep your handwriting or does it switch it to a computer font? I've always wondered that.

that HP looks really good for the price and if the 40% cash back for HP is still working than you should buy that laptop really soon

Id upgrade the CPU to 2.3 Ghz, 2.4 isnt worth it for the extra $$

thanks peopls im checkiing ou the links right now, and im in highschool and there are oulets next to meh ever wehre are its not like imma have to use it all day long, some classes we dont even do work in so... yea. and im not planning to play games on it in tablet mode.. too hard if it would work... and lol my laptop i got right now, is running windows xp, with 128mb of ram 533mhz processor, and a 16mb graphics card. it also runs halo with no lag
