Reputation: 13   |  Booting leopard on dell? i have been looking around the internet and i heard that its possible to boot up leopard from a computer using vista... so i would really like to try it has anyone done this before? do you need a legit copy of leopard or can i just download one off a torrent also what would i need to do to install it? http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f couple of youtube videos showing what im talking about

Reputation: 12 | check out insanelymac.com it is possible on almost any computer, although intel is a LOT easier. I have mac and windows duel booting on my laptop  also, for a download, search kalyway on a torrent site |

Reputation: 1  | Yeah, you can install Mac OSX (Leopard) on a computer with a x86 Intel processor (cause its the same one the Mac computers use). Although you need a certain file to trick OSX to thinking your compuer is a Mac and the only "legal" place you can get that is from intel Mac hardware. And it is against the OSX ToS to put OSX on any computer that is not a Mac. But if you want more info on how to set it up go to OSx86 Project wiki. Hope this helped. EDIT: I haven't looked at the new info lately (I read about it a while back and was going off my memory) , and now apparently you can run on AMD and it's a lot easier to install. But it still is against the ToS (but like that's stopping you, lol.)

Reputation: 4 | Not really. I kept telling myself "I hate Mac", but then I realized I hated the people that used Mac (well, most of them). Mac itself is a great piece of eye candy, which is exactly why people buy it. They claim they buy it because of it's "functionality" even though Windows can do pretty much everything a Mac can, and more. I'm getting a laptop soon and I'd like to try this, so I can have Mac and Windows on the same laptop, which will generate an unheard amount of electro-magnetic R.A.P.E. |
