Well finally my 360 gave in to the dreaded red ring of death. I just went on xbox.com/support and signed into my live account and requested repair and they are sending me a box with free shipping for them to fix it for free.

So my question is for anyone who has done this typically how long does the whole process take?

2-4 weeks, turnaround has been fairly quick lately as they usually just send you one already fixed and keep yours.

Around 1 month, I haven't done it personally, but for others it took a month. So get some good computer games, or the old xbox ready. Run-on

they are fast

i have a friend that sent his in 2 weeks ago and got it back already

all they do is send you a working unit and fix the one you have to resell

I've done it a couple times now and from the date I shipped it out both took a month give or take a few days.

Ive returned about 15 or so, when the rrod really started breaking out it was long, sometimes 2 months, last 5 have all been 2 weeks or shorter.

Was good business for a while, buy rrod for 50-100 bucks, return em, sell em for 200-300. Then Ms had to up the warranty to 3 years and ruin it..lol

Yeah my 360 died last week and luckily they're going to fix it; it should be there tomorrow. This is my 3rd one already

Do they hook you up with any free goodies for the inconvenience? Because I will be missing out on whats left of my xbox live gold membership I paid for. -.-

To answer op, it took me about 1 month for my first 360. At that time, then were not even giving back a month of xbox live.

2 Months ago, another one died, which I called on a wednesday, received the box on friday, sent back on saturday and got another xbox the tuesday, so it took a big 6 days from my call! And received 1 month xbox live. I can say I was very impress!

It takes 2 or 4 weeks, maybe more depending on how busy they are at the moment you send your console.
