I'd say go with 360 because that's the only thing I own. But I played the PS3 and that was fun too. They both of different qualities that are ownage in their own aspect.

If you like gaming and only want to game get xbox cause online is good on it.
if you want overall and good deal get ps3. PS3 plays most games as xbox but the online is not as good because people dont use mics but if u have friends with ps3 u shud get it. has blu ray player

That is an odd first post. You suggest the PS3 because it is a good deal, although you can purchase the 360 cheaper. You even mention that the online isn't as good (which is expected, but it's not bad at all for the price to play online.) So why exactly did you mention it when both things are 'cons' of the console?

I'd personally go with Xbox 360, but I'd say there are pros and cons to each console. I like the game selection better on the 360 for my personal preference because there are just more games suited to me on the 360. You on the other hand might like the game selection on the PS3 better. It's all just personal preference really. They are both good gaming consoles.

I went through the same dilemma. I've been a sony fanboy since the ps1 (ps1, ps2, psp phat, slim) and when it came down to getting an xbox or ps3 (i just recently finally had the money) i went the xbox simply because EVERYBODY i know has one. The multitude of titles is great..LIVE is insane fun, and I've found I actually like the xbox controller better xD
So IMO get the xbox

If you have the money to pay for the online for the elite, get it. If you dont want to pay money for xbl, get a ps3. How simple is that? I dont understand why people say the 360 has more good games.. What good games are there for the 360? For the ps3 theres uncharted 2, Demon souls, MGS4, Killzone 2, LBP, rachet and clank series, heavy rain... thats only some of the games that earned a 8.5+ score

And i know that heavy rain and rachet and clank a crack in time haven't come out yet, but I know for sure these games will own.

All the 360 has is halo and gears, even those games suck..

Im pretty sure im about to get flamed, but i dont give a sh*t because its just a console.

I like the PS3 better because I'm more of a sony fan, but I've had both systems. I had a bunch of problems with my xbox 260 with red rings and power outages and more, but the games were cheaper and back when I had it, the system was cheaper too. I only reason I'd go back to using a xbox 360 is to mod it. There's nothing better than free games, right?

I really just like the playstation for the great titles they make. Like MGS4, Uncharted, Final Fantasy and more. Other than that, there's really nothing that special about it. I like having free online play with built in wi-fi, but some less popular game have almost no one playing online, which sucks.

It really just depends on what your looking for, but I vote: PS3

Yea the ps3 is a better deal, You get a blu-ray player, gaming console, and linux machine in one. I dont know how much different the prices are now but what I am trying to say is that If your a hardcore gamer and only want the system for games then get the 360 because It is better for games. If games is not what matters to you the most then get a PS3.

If you cant decide then get both.

If you want quality and very amazing graphics go with the ps3 but if you want amazing online play then go with the 360 but they are more prone to device failure.

wow this has been a really good thread with good opinions for both sides, but needless to say I do love the 360 and how good Xbox live is online. Also it does matter what games you play if you will get mature friends and a good match. Overall though with playing PSnetwork and Live, live has better connections usually and some great online games.

There's a lot of opinions in this, but I'm surprised that nobody has yet to point out the raw facts as far as cost of online play is concerned. PSN is free, while Xbox Live costs $50 per year. Of course, there are those who are finding plenty of ways around this by simply using one-month free trials over and over again.

PS3 free online, lags like a motherfucker no good online features, and a bunch of 40 year old pedifiles. like the man who got a girl around the age of 10 to get naked on webcam. Also, PSN store blows, and no gears of war, halo forza 3. Xbox 360, if you buy new, has no rrod. all the new ones are jasper, so that eliminates the rrod arguement. also, xbox live has multimedia, movie/video streaming, and no rapeists on live. also parties, so you dont have to play the same games as friends to talk. the kids on live are immature compared to psn, but at least they wont rape you. and modding, if you are careful will get u free games that u can play on live. I've got to agree with Jason here. I'm actually on Newegg right now working on building a setup for a nice gaming/multimedia/design computer. Of course, I'm going to put OSX on it and let it bootcamp to Windows, but still.
