A Japanese developer has released a NES emulator for the PS3 utilizing BD-J. For full details on how to get it all up and running, read more below...

YouTube - PS3 BD-J NES Emulator

1. Download the file from this link: Click on "NES emulator" in the above sentence

2.Extract the the folder in the compressed file to the main root of a USB device or memory stick
3.Place the roms you would like to play into the main folder you have just extracted to the root
4.Go to the Video section in the XMB on your PS3
5.You will need to click the USB or memory stick you have chosen
6.Select the BD-J homebrew game
7.Next, you will be brought to a file viewer in which, you may choose roms.
8.Now the game will start. Press the triangle button then go to the numeric pad
9.The 1 on the pad stands for select and the 2 acts as start
10.You may now press triangle and enjoy the game

Installation:

* Unzip the ps3filer.zip archive
* Copy NES ROMs to the AVCHD directory
* Copy the AVCHD directory to the root of a USB/Flash drive
* Go to the device in the XMB video menu and launch “AVCHD”

Download latest PS3 utilities, tools, cracks and hacks.

Nice Release, but a better release would be a SNES emulator.

Its alright, but seem to be a bit of a delay/lag with the response time to a button being pressed.

Are you absolutly sure this will work on a non-modded PS3? Can people confirm this? You don't need Yellow Dog?

If so, I will probably try out.

Also, to help people out, here is a complete NTSC-U NES ROMSet that I personally compiled. This ROMSet was an attempt to get a collection of all the USA NES Games, no imports, no translations, no hacks, no mods, no bootlegs, just the good stuff. List used for this collection is from Digital Press.

RAR Archive on Megaupload

Also, all the ROMs are each put into their own .ZIP file archives. Many emulators can read .ZIP NES ROMs, but others can't. GUESSING this one can't and you will need to extract the ROMs back into their .NES file formats.
