Reputation: 94 ![]() | Apparently, one of the cheapest ways to get a 360 is to get an RRoD unit off ebay and send it back to MS in order for them to repair it. I saw something about a warranty sticker and how it couldn't be cut. Is this true? If the warranty sticker is cut you can't send it back? Also, what's the success rate of those DIY RRoD fix kits on eBay? And can anyone tell me what the "X-Clamp Fix" actually does?

Reputation: 12 ![]() | the x-clamp fix supposedly fixes the design flaw which causes most xboxs to rrod.. however it will only work if the xbox can resolder itself correctly. the fix then helps prevent it from overheating again and failing |

Reputation: 94 ![]() | He told how he get's his stickers off. But if the sticker is cut what happens? Can you or can you not send it back to MS to fix the RRoD?

I fixed my xbox with the penny mod too, which is essentially the same thing as the xclamp mod, and also sped up the fans. has been working for several months ever since | |

Reputation: 94 ![]() | Can someone answer my question about the warranty sticker? I keep seeing these 360's on ebay that say the warranty sticker is cut. Does that mean I can't send it back to MS for repairs?

Reputation: 94 ![]() | So if I buy a RRoD unit off eBay and clean it off, MS should accept it and repair it?

Reputation: 42 ![]() | Ive sent modded ones, ones without stickers, ones that were obviously opened, only thing they will do is return it not fixed. Chances are good they will fix it though. Yeah, clean it off, and send it in, nothing to lose, not like they gonna keep it..lol |

Reputation: 94 ![]() | But if they don't fix the RRoD then why did I just spend $35 on a busted console?

| 360 Modder | i've seen brand new 360s without stickers ever put on them, so i don't think they'll mind.
