Reputation: 51 ![]() cBay Rating: | I was on it and it was running great, no problems. It was plugged in to the power cord. I decided to hook it up to my monitor that I use for my desktop. AS SOON AS i touched the VGA cable male connector to the female VGA port on my laptop, it shut off. instantly. all lights off, everything. now it won't turn back on, at all. pressing the power button does nothing, not even spinning up. the light is light on the side showing it is plugged in, but none on front. it is an HP HDX 18t, running windows 7. i've tried booting up with the battery out plugged in, battery in plugged in, battery in not plugged in.. nothing works please please help

| Senior Member | Seems like something got fried.... Quote:
Try removing anything that can be removed easily(hard drive, dvd drive, extras plugged in, etc) and reseat the memory. Also maybe try flexing the base or pushing hard on the keyboard, perhaps there is a broken connection somewhere. I would say your best bet would be to go to the HP forums and see if anyone else has similiar issues. Sometimes certain laptop models have known problems that can be fixed. Like some older laptops I have had problems with the CPU coming loose over time and pressing on the keyboard temporarily booted them back up.

HP is not that bad , compared to other computer companies you find at futureshop/bestbuy. almost all those computer companies put cheap stuff in your pc and gain the profits. but thats besides the point at the moment. I suggest giving it to somone skilled at computers to take a look at it. like a repairman, or you can call hp if u still have warranty. |
