Well i thought it over, and I'm not sure if to get a laptop or a desktop. I would be willing to spend about 1.2k. What I would use it for: Minor botting maybe minor gaming on the go. Can anyone reccomend to buy
1. Desktop or laptop
2. A link to a good laptop/desktop to buy
I will plus rep the best suggestions.
Edit: Paddroo if you thread shit ie you wont get the money, etc, I will walk down to your house and rape u, k

Desktop is the way to go...you can get two desktops with double the power each of a laptop for the same price

2 desks : 1 top

Tops burn out faster too...

Gonna get a new flatscreen this xmas and invest in a high powered desktop...laptop is just when I'm lazy and wanna lay in my bed lol

My suggestion would be to go for the desktop as most laptops have a lifespan of about two years. Of course, you would be sacrificing your gaming on the go purpose.

As for desktops brand, Dell is usually the way to go but give HP a glance if you're curious.

Spend half that and still get a good computer that can game and bot.

I recently spent only $550 on my build.

quad core 2.33GHz before OCing(gonna buy a new heatsink first)
8GB DDR2 1100 MHz
GeForce 9800 GTX+
1TB HDD
A decent case that isn't too plain.

Don't buy an HP anything. Customer service is shit if something goes wrong.

How do you feel about building your own? I built my quad core April (09) for $799, so I am sure you could get the same or better for a cheaper price.

The only decent dell products are their laptops. The only trustworthy companies to buy a laptop or desktop from are Systemax and Asus in my opinion. My asus laptop runs most game really well.

I would go for a desktop. No gaming on the go though lol. But if your going for a desktop, get a Dell. I don't know to much about brands and how good they are but I know that Dell is pretty good.

Go with whoever you want if you decide to buy pre-built. You will find many many good and many many bad stories about any of the brand's products and support.

Put " "Insert brand name here" customer support sucks" into google and you will find endless stories about any company.

Desktop is best if you are busy and don't travel much. It's better to get a desktop if you mainly use it to do some bottings, playing games, more power (more speed, larger hard drive) and a lot of movies watching. I have a netbook, I use it for sole travel purpose. My laptop's battery is officially dead after 2 years of use but it still powers on directly from the power adapter wall plug, just without a battery. Because of this, I now view my laptop as half-desktop. o_O; Get laptop if you frequently need it on the GO. It's like comparing PS3-PSP (or Wii-DS) to Desktop-Laptop.

For desktop, I strongly recommend custom if you are good with them.

In all seriousness, get a Sony or Toshiba. I've had the most success with them. TigerDirect/CompUSA/CircuitCity usually have great deals on both of these brands. You'll probably want to wait until after the 22nd so your computer will already have 7 installed on it. Less hassle that way.

In my opinion and experience (3 laptops, 1 desktop - built myself) desktop every time, I'll never buy a laptop again.

I'd say go for the Desktop unless it is absolutely essential you need a laptop. There is no reason you should spend more money for a device which won't be nearly as good.
