Also, when i go to make a new connection it only gives me the option of Broadband or Dial-Up. What gives microsoft?

Is it recognizing your wireless card? It sounds like a driver issue...

Is the wireless card in the device manager?

Does windows 7 have a device manager... i have never used it...

Yes i downloaded them off the cd the adapter came with. My dad said that it has a wireless card built in but i cant seem to find that on the device manager.

Here is what im trying to set it up with.

what laptop is it? does the wireless card support Wireless B?

Or maybe that adapter doesnt make wireless network, just receive wireless signal from existing wireless network. I have one similar adapter, also from linksys, and it only receive wireless signal and connect the computer that it attached to, to an existing wireless network.

I know im using that adapter right now for this computer. Our FiOS router is downstairs so i use this to connect to that. I do not know anything about the card inside my laptop. It doesnt even say anything about a wireless card in device manager

So you already have an existing wireless network at your house, and the problem is that you cant get the laptop to connect to it. ?
