ok I just bought an xbox 360 wireless internet adapter and I need help adding it to my network. so can someone please help I just tested the connection and the ip address failed so if your could just post like step by step instructions thank you.

what do you mean by "Adding"
are you able to connect to it? or are you trying to use a MAC filter???

my network is connected but my Ip in the test menu keeps on failing.

WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK ...

Is there anywhere to put a pass key on the XBox? I hooked up a Wii and there was one there.

Try Turning off your WiFi security and try.

I recently put a wireless G router on my network but set it as an access point. All security was off at first to get all the IP addys right.

I updated the firmware on the Wii and router and it works like a charm.

Set the wireless channel on your router to 11 if you know how... Because that usually helps with most wireless problems and log onto the internal site of the router and change the wireless to Automatically Obtain IP; if the 360 doesn't pick up the IP yet then you will have to go onto a computer connected to the router to get internet access and find the IP of the computer because that same IP will be shared for all wireless and wired units to the router.

What router brand do you have?
Because NetGear I know have a default setting of only allowing certain MAC Addresses.
