I've ordered mainly cook books and other small items like shirts which needed no one to sign for it when it was delivered.

I'm just trying to get an idea what items you guys have gotten without signing for since I can send those items to my house instead of to someones house that someone is home since I work 8-5.

Some of the larger items people say they didn't have to sign for but some people have said they had to sign. I know one person might have signed for office 2007, but someone else might have not had to. I just want to see if there are any items you always HAVE to sign for otherwise I'd be willing to take a risk and leave a note on the door for the UPS guy.

Compiled information of those that contribute and their username below:

Had to sign for:

I had to sign for all 3 xbox controllers, the headset (but that's been gone for a long time now), and both offices. The earphones didn't require signatures.

Damn, that is bad news.

I was gonna order some controllers and an office but so far you have evidence it would be a waste unless I did it to an address someone could sign.

I had to sign for everything in the 5k+ area and haven't for anything below that.

I got the keyboard[from like last year, was like $70] and a headset and I'm 14...They didn't even ask. They were like, "You live here? TAKE IT!" and I'm like "Thanks!"

I think it's random, and it might also depend on the person delivering.

Oh and I got a webcam, no sign either.

I got a controller and two webcams, didn't have to sign for those things. The controller was a good while ago, and the webcams were the start of summer

I got the 360 a good while back, and of course I have to sign for that

Do you live near a UPS shippng location? If so, just wait until you get the failed delivery notice, then call up and have them hold it at the center for you to pick up. You have 5 days to do so after you ask for the hold. And they usually have evening hours.

I got a webcam and Zune case delivered to my house, I was at school so they just left it by my door. Only problem is I didnt get my Zune so no need for the case.

I'll try it out on one large item to see if it works, obviously it will probably be months before i know, but I never thought of calling them to have them hold it there. I don't live 'near' one, but I do work near one so hopefully I can just pick it up there on my lunch breaks or after work.

Surprisingly they didnt make me sign for rockband. The only thing i ever had to sign for was one rock band controller.
