this might be a stupid idea but

I had a JABRA bluetooth headset that I didn't want, but I didn't have a reciept, so I went to bestbuy, bought the same model headset, asked for a gift reciept. Then after a few hours I went back with the old one and returned it with the gift reciept.

So..

Could this work with office too?

You buy a copy of office, ask for gift reciept. Then you return the office you bought and get ur $$ back, then u use the gift reciept to return ur CL botted Offfice O=

I guess this increases your chances?
I dun know..

I just thought of this cause it worked for my with the jabra headset. dont know about office...

To not fuck this up, find a store that you are guarenteed to have a successful return(with CL office), then buy office from The SAME STORE, and return it, then return ur CL botted office.

Unless you have 400 bucks thenn try it out

Wait...I don't see how your making money.

So you have a broken and unwanted headset.

You buy same one at the store and ask for gift receipt. You use gift receipt to return the old one and you get your money back. BUT you still ended up using money to buy that headset...

You don't gain anything, or lose anything. You end up getting a brand new Office from a store and that will increase your chances from returning Office I guess? Because I believe the brand new Offices have the red sticker thingys around the cover.

If im not mistaken there is a bar code on the recipet that they scan when you bring it back. It will probably already be marked as returned in there system after you bring the second one back. Could work though. Would be easiar just to bring it back with non - recipiet as bestbuy allowes 1 per year.

Yeah this is stupid. Circuit city does it the same way. All receipts have a code or ticket number. The cashier will bring this up when you go to return using the gift receipt (yes the gift receipt has the code to) and it will show that office was already returned and tell you to fuck off for being a retard.

I don't know exactly how it works, but I think Nick and mike are right.
Your gift receipt is probably linked to the original receipt. So the database will say that it has already been returned.

it is, I work at circuit city and i've seen bestbuy receipts. They both are linked to a record in the computer system.
