I just got off the phone with them they allow you to turn in stuff without a receipt. But the thing is that you can only turn in 70$ worth of stuff in one year..

Target sucks for returns go to walmart or best buy

I returned a set of Bose In Ears I bought last year for a full refund, in the form of a gift card.

Told them I got them as a gift, and it worked like a charm, didnt even ask for ID.

Target does suck. You can only return two items a year with your License. They scanned mine. I returned a few things there but still good. They are strict other than that yea..

flight simulator, zoo tycoon, age of empires go for like 20-40 bucks. Zoo tycoon is also only 1800 points.

Last I checked, about 8 months ago, BB would rather get their teeth pulled then give you a refund without a receipt, since they get phone numbers with each purchase to tie a number to the receipt. I played all my cards, good sob story, good back story, talked to multiple employees, absolutely no luck at Best Buy.

Wal mart allows 3 (I believe is the number) of returns every 6 months without a receipt. They take your ID so you can't do more than 3, but you can have friends or family return for you. You cannot return items that are sold on wal mart.com that are not in stock in the store.

That was the info I received when I tried to return some speakers I won about 8 months ago. Like I said, I had no luck at best buy, and little at wal mart since the speakers were sold on walmart.com but no in the stores.

Best Buy gave me $735 store credit for Office. They looked up the phone number of my mom (because I said she bought it) and when nothing came up, I took my cell phone out as if to call her to confirm what store she got it at and the girl said "Don't worry about it. The cashier sometimes forgets to ask for phone numbers." (And she is right because when I bought something later, they didn't ask for mine.)

So really...people need to STOP acting like your experience at a store will be the same across the entire chain. Just because you had no luck does not mean that soeone won't at a difference location. And just because you did have luck does not mean that someone will as well.

And just because you got denied at your local sotre doesn't even mean someone else will at that same store. There are too many variables that will go into a store like Staples, Best Buy or Office Max taking it back.

1. Do you look trustworthy? Unfortunately for most of you, they are likely NOT going to believe a teenager got Office Ultimate as a gift.
2. The manager you get.
3. The manager's mood,
4, Your attitude.

#4 is important. Don't go in like you expect it. The two times I have been successful, the first words out of my mouth were "I have a feeling you can't do anything for me, but I figured I would check." And both times they did everything they could to make me happy. Do NOT ask for a refund. You know you are not walking out of there with cash so don't make yourself look greedy by trying to get it.

It may or may not help to hint that you would like to use the card to get something else right then and there. It is not like they are going to force you to, but look like you are. This may or may not matter, but it is always good to throw out there.

Waiting until after Christmas MAY work, but it is not the guarantee that it used to be. PRetty much all stores give gift receipts these days so they will demand that. And there is never any danger is TRYING as soon as you get it. If you wait until after Christmas, you are going to gethte lowest price the item sold for. With Office, that includes both Christmas sales, and the factthat they are discounting it with every so often since Office 2010 is coming out soon. With other items you are looking at getting the lowest price. So if htey offered it at a deep discount on Black Friday thayt is all you are going to get.

Ive returned 3 vistas to bestbuy and have yet to be denied

Presentation is everything. If you look like a gangbanger that just shoplifted office, you'll get denied. Every time i went i wore a polo, khakis, dress shoes and had my work id hanging out of my pocked.

And returning office despite the heavy discounts is a whole lot better than selling it on ebay.
