Don't post about it unless you actually are posting how to do it and you know your method works. You also have to have legitimate rights to post it, i.e. it's your exploit. Otherwise I'll be sure that you get an infraction and your thread is closed or deleted. It's mostly spam that we get about this. So discussion of any other sort that isn't in this thread will result in a 1 point infraction.

So far EVERY 'trick' I have seen discussed is clearly mail fraud... A federal crime.

Anyone who is doing these tricks needs to take a careful look at the US Code Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 63, Paragraphs 1342 and 1343 regarding the FBI's definition of mail fraud, and fraud by wire (both of which will probably apply). Any time you intentionally alter your address, whether adding a fake 'Apt' to the end, or even the current 'super secret' method, you may end up 'servicing' Bubba for up to 5 years or paying a hefty fine. Up to 30 years if they get you for fraud by wire (just about anything you do via the internet applies).

And, the FBI has made it perfect clear that this is not limited to just the USPS, but applies to "any private or commercial interstate carrier", which means UPS, too.

You could probably use the current 'super secret' trick for one or two prizes and claim it was accidental, but any more than that and you make an easy fraud case against you. I don't have a clue what the odds of getting caught are, but I doubt any of you want to be that one guy that doesn't slip through the cracks...

If you are a minor, you will probably get away with a slap on the wrist, and a stern warning to both you and your parents. If you get a really pissy judge maybe juvi for a while. The rest of you had better be boting Astroglide just in case...

If you want to know the old trick only involves letters. With a bit of trial and error you should be able to figure it out. I am really tired of the crap this caused, so there I gave you a hint. You're job to find it out yourself.

Since this one is mostly public here is the apartment one, use it as a hint for other ones and remember it is illegal.

People were using the apt trick back before CL verified addresses with usps and nothing happened to them. We've all received samples through the mail with the apt trick and (almost) no one has gotten in trouble. Unless soemone goes ridiculously insane, nothing will happen.

It's too much work for the ups guy to file a fraud report. They'd only do it if you receive dozens of packages a day and they would do it so you'd stop making so much damn work for them
