I've googled and found some ways but they tend to not yield high quality rips so I was wondering if you guys have recommendations?

I'm not sure if there is a way to get the raw audio from the raw video that a user uploads, but that would be the best way to get a high-quality rip. You could always record your wave out as it plays and then it will be the same quality as what you are hearing. That's what I usually do to capture online audio.
