Sometimes my IP on this computer changes rarely because the modem resets at random... in storms... or just when it wants to.

Ok... so... I want to be able to access my TVersity media server from a distance. It's going to be a good distance, so I'm not going to know the IP. Is there any way to make this computer notify my laptop of an IP change?

Also, I'm looking for a remote assistance solution. I'm really looking for a way to control this PC from a distance. Is Windows Remote Assistance the best option or will that even allow me to connect without being here at this PC to accept the connection?
