i wanna know how i can change my ip address, im using vista and my modem is a cable modem i have no idea how to change it. i tried using CMD to change it by typing in "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew" and it didnt work. i tried unplugging my modem and it didnt work i dont know what else to do. someone help me.

You have a static IP. That doesn't work on static IP's I dont believe.

A static IP is a nonchanging ip. How do you know? Well, one way to know is if a CN member (MasterKiller) just told you you have one

He has cable internet, won't change doing that. You would have to call the company, the administrator might change it for you.

Yeah, an easy way to do it is to call up your ISP and just have them change it for you. It would take 24 hours, and you probably could do it as often as you like because it would be a different worker every time.

Change the mac address on your router. If not using a router, use a third party tool to spoof your PC's mac address.

Works every time.

Don't call your ISP, they won't bother unless you have a viable reason. And, the request is logged to your account, so you cannot do it very often without getting unwanted attention.

Sometimes, if you leave your modem unplugged for a very long time (like a couple days), then your old IP will get reassigned, and you will get a different one the next time you turn it on.

I use Easy-Hide-Ip

but it makes my internet slow sometimes because it shows that I'm in germany or some european country lol.

you can change it back though so I like it

does it hide my ip or change it temp.? if it hides it i might as well use proxy.

Programs like this and Ultrasurf connect you to Open Servers who provide their connection to use.
Most public servers will be slow as many people are connected to them limiting their bandwidth, but if you can find a private server, or someone that has a Good upload speed.. your SET.
but yeh alot of these proxy progs connect to servers in russia/china/and other places out in europe/asia
