Default Paypal dispute

I sold a $75 amazon.com e-gift code on ebay. The buyer paid and i emailed him the code. The next day paypal tells me that the funds are under dispute and therefore frozen.

from the limited info paypal is giving me it appears that the buyers ebay account was hacked and there was bidding activity that took place without the account owner's authorization. and the paypal payment was paid with fraudulent funds.

I later told paypal that i sent the actual gift certificate to the buyer in a small envelope(which is bs) but even so I think in order to be covered by the sellers insurance that a package with a tracking code has to be sent.

I don't feel very optimistic about this dispute. How do you all think I'll make out? and is there anything thing else I should do or say (the dispute started just over a week ago)

Usually in these cases you are screwed, the best way to avoid this kind of thing, is to email them the code, but also send them a tracked envelope containing the same information as the email you sent them. That way they can't dispute and say "I never got it"

Yeah with something like $75 like that I'd kind of be more careful.
