from club live but the person received it but couldn't use it so she e-mailed me and said

Hi. I took the Vista DVD to my Apple store to help
install it, and they inform me that my laptop is too
old, and can't run Vista.

I'm trying to figure something out, but I need to know
what your return policy is. I did open the package,
but never inserted the disc.

I may have to give up on Mac, and purchase a PC and
they all come with Vista.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Just let me know if
you can accept a return, if opened.

so what should i do i know i'm not giving full purchase price back for this

Just say no because it is opened already the license key can't be resold without complications.

Seems like she don't know just say you are sorry, but she can try to resell it.

I would say that since the item has been made substantially less valuable by it being opened combined with the fact that product you sold is not in any way faulty, that you wont be able to give her a refund. Then tell her what she can do: Resell it or upgrade her computer.

^^ one of those plus say that since it is open, you dont know that she didn't write the cd key down, but don't directly say something like YOU OPENED IT JUST TO GET THE CD KEY BITCH, etc.
