| Senior Member | I do business, so I'll help you out for your government class tomorrow morning. The federal government should involve itself in non-profit organisations for multiple reasons. - Influences a good opinion on them. - Assists in relations between them and other countries (if other countries are assisted) - It can assist in maintaining an economic level which the government desires. - Charity rocks. - 25% percent (on average) of all monies donated end up going to the final project. The rest is used as administrative fees, and therefore partly becomes government income through taxation. - Because Microsoft let you donate points. Some serious, some silly. I'm tired.

Also such a way may influence a greater assistance from the public, which could also be put to better resources, increasing the efficiency of charities. Just to state, not all charities must pay taxation, so take precautions to repremand saying that all charities do, just mention that some, such as newer or less affluential charities.

Any organization our government is involved in becomes hugely bloated, putting them in charge of a non profit is a sure fire route to having the non profit have less funds to distribute. Not to mention I object to using my tax dollars for this reason, it would seem the non profit should fund it's own oversight as required by law currently without spending taxpayer funds to do so. |
