After some investigation, I'll have to side with brill, I'm 95% sure that he was indeed hacked by nbk as crazy as it all sounds...

Bowen, I'd like to talk to you on AIM when you get the chance.

Either way, it was brills account and he should have to pay it back, and take responsibility for his account. What if someone like chewy "got hacked" and scammed people? Who could we trust anymore? It isn't as serious as scamming, and we shouldn't post any info because it technically isn't his fault. Is there anyway of contacting the "hacker"?

Also, brill, this isn't a thread to be joking around in, the guy just lost 100$.

Ok so lets say i stole ur password and scammed a good 10 people on here.....would that still be ur responsibility to pay them back the losses then suffered?? Its easy to say its brills fault when ur not the one that is in his current situation. I dont think brill should have to pay ne thing or do anything. Like doom said hes 95% sure brill was hacked and if he was in the process of changing his passwords when it happened how can he control that?? He probably has a good 50 sites with accts on them if not more and no one can change the password on them all at the exact same time. Now im not sayin what happened to the dude with the acct was right im just sayin dont come down on brill like hes someone u can rag on when it wasnt even him that did the scamming.

Good luck to the people involved.

You can't be mad at him for scamming anyone, but he is responsible for his stupidity.

He gave away his passwords, purposely or not, to someone else.

It's like saying your car and house got robbed and stolen, when you handed the thief your keys. Yeah you didn't steal them yourself, but you're held responsible for being irresponsible. Also, who the fuck makes all of their passwords the same?

Also he was in the process of changing his passwords which shows that he tried to handle it. A mistake is a mistake but imo brill shouldnt have to pay since he wasnt the one that scammed.

I'm not, but it's his account and he should take a responsibility in it. So bowen lost 100$ and that's it? Just b/c brill got hacked? How do I know who I should trade with, for the hell of it, everyone I trade with could be hacked. I understand its not fair to brill that he got hacked and he would have to suffer, but in the same position is it fair to bowen? Technically, it is brills fault for getting hacked, its not a shot in the dark at the password or anything.

Because if nbk is unreachable (Doom is unsuccessful at tracing his IP. He used cyberghost) , then Brill will have to pay at least half of my losses.

So someone logged into brills acct and scammed someone and thats his fault?? Honestly idc if he gave his password out by mistake or on purpose....common sense says dont steal another users acct and scam someone with it. My mom puts her keys in a bowel by the door everyday and lets say 1 day i stoler her car and went joy riding and crashed it into a store.....would my mom get into trouble?? She left her keys out in the open so y shouldnt she pay?? well she shouldnt pay because she didnt do ne thing wrong. Its the same in this situation too.....you dont hand out accts to paople until they have paid or u KNOW FOR A FACT they are the real person. Like me for example....not many people talk the way i do or have the same sense of humor so if i dont act normal then u pretty much know i m not who i say i m......to sum this all up....brill sent a password that was generic.....this dude guessed and used it on cn and got lucky....thats no reason to make brill pay for damages when he didnt get ne thing out of it but a bunch of complaints. he was hacked so just leave it at that and cut ur losses....make a grilled cheese or somethin and watch some tv or go to the pool to cool off. whats done be done.

I know its a big loss for u but go after this other dude and not brill. morals should have stopped this dude from stealin the acct. IDK how to say it ne more but brill shouldnt have to pay a dime since he didnt get ne thing from this and didnt have ne thing to do with it other then his acct was hacked. u gotta cut ur losses cause really thats all thats left to do.

Bad analogy. If someone stole your keys to your house (your password) and used your phone pretending to be you (your accounts), and used that number to deceive people into trusting you (what just happened) you would not be responsible.

Yeah, **** happens and Bowen obviously deserves his money back. This is no different than someone just scamming and running away, but in this situation Brill is being blamed as he is the middle man and the real culprit is unreachable. Brill should be left out of this.

Its nbk's fault. Hes the only one who should have to pay. And maybe it will help if you think of it this way:
You just lost $2 (decap)

It wasn't stolen though. I could understand more if Brill had tight security and someone the guy hacked into his system, but Brill admits to GIVING him his password. That's his fault. None of this would have happened if Brill had not given out his password.

I don't think at all Brill is FULLY responsible, but he shares SOME of the blame, and should have to pay a portion of the cost. Yeah, of course hunt down the guy who actually scammed, but Brill is responsible as well.
If you didn't like my original analogy, think if you had a gun. Someone stole your gun and shot someone else, when the police track down the gun, it comes back to you. You're responsible. There have been plenty of cases where parents had guns in the house, their young child found it, shot somebody/something, the parents were punished.

I am sorry, but this seems a little fishy. brill seems to have no issue paying for bowens losses, even though he had no actions in this? I sure as hell would not pay if my account got stolen.

I am not calling anyone out, or siding with someone.

I am glad though, that brill has stepped up and made a resolution so quickly, like me , unlike other scammers around here.
