That computer is just fine for what you want to use it for as long as you don't plan on over clocking it.
You can install windows via a USB drive (2.0), though it will be much easier to use a cd/dvd drive.
When I bought my pc from Newegg I spent $800 for a gaming comp (with a 9800gtx). There is no need for you to spend any more than you already are.
300W power supply is just fine if all you are doing is botting, running your cd/dvd drive and running your hard drive. If you ever wanted to convert your computer for any other use you absolutely need to upgrade to at lease a 500W.
Hope this helps. All my experience comes from the building of my personal computer and my boyfriend who has built and repaired many computers over the last 9 years. |
The stock heatsync is adequate for gaming, but what ryutso is talking about is exploiting gomez heavily. This is going to cause his CPU usage to be at 100% for an extended amount of time. On a quad with stock heatsync, it only takes about 30 seconds of 100% CPU usage for temps to reach 75C+.
steamwhistle, google a program called Prime95, download the quad core version, and run it. This is a torture test software that will cause sustained 100% CPU usage. Monitor your CPU temperature AND THEN call bullshit on me.
I wouldnt listen to (her?) advice about the 300W PSU either...
