Depends on the game for mac....
Macbooks only have integrated video cards, while macbook pros have dedicated.... most games require dedicated.
Macbooks start at $999 and Pros start at $1799 (with the education discount) and with their Back to School promo, you get a free ipod touch.

The prices are high, considering the hardware, but they are much more stable than windows. I've had a mac for a year, and it's still as snappy as day 1. Can't say that for windows.

It all depends on priorities.
